Looking Back at 2011: Legoland Florida Snaps Into Place

The opening of Legoland Florida is surely one of the biggest park stories of the year that was. Built on the site of the former Cypress Gardens, the Florida version is similar to Legoland California and other Lego parks around the world, but among its unique features is the lovely botanical gardens that have charmed guests for decades. It also offers a Lego-themed rendition of Cypress Gardens' longstanding water ski show.

Although it only opened in October, everything is apparently clicking quite nicely at the Central Florida park. During this busy week between Christmas and New Year's, it reached capacity yesterday and had to close its gates to new guests. The park reported that it was near capacity today.
