The parks are usually the ones guilty of laying on the hyperbole, but I'm quite jazzed about 2012, and I think that out of the many years I've been writing about the industry, it just may be the most exciting year for park developments. Granted, there aren't any major new parks opening (except for China) or really any one thing that's grabbing the headlines and hogging the spotlight. It's the sheer quantity and breadth of new attractions, lands, rides, coasters, and other goodies that's coming our way that has me pumped.
Of all the announcements, however, I think the one goodie that may have me the most giddy is Cars Land, the Pixar-inspired expansion that's taking shape at Disney California Adventure. The town of Radiator Springs is coming to life along with the E-ticket attraction, Radiator Springs Racer. The finishing touches are also being made as part of the massive makeover of the second park at Disneyland Resort, which has gone from huh? to wow! over the past few years. (It's amazing what a mere $1.1 billion can do, eh?)
