The beauty of indoor water parks is that they are weatherproof and are open year round. While hotels with indoor water parks typically do great business in the warmer months (and indeed, many of them have outdoor water park attractions as well as indoor ones), things get really interesting when the weather turns really nasty. Like right around now. Frolicking in a wave pool while the mercury dips below freezing? Heavenly!
The newest indoor water park to join the fray is at Jay Peak, a ski resort in Vermont near the border of Canada. It opened a few days ago, and offers some intriguing attractions including a wacky water slide that sends riders into an overbanked-bordering-on-upside-down loop. Read more about Jay Peak Water Park.
The indoor water park craze began in the Midwest US, and there are a gaggle of them. For example, check out the many indoor water parks in Minnesota.
