One of the many things I enjoy about my theme park travel-writing gig is the opportunity to meet and swap stories with the relatively small band of finger-clacking wretches who cover this odd and wonderful beat. We often find ourselves together at the parks covering ride openings and other events. Among the coasterati is Robert Niles, the guy behind the popular site, ThemeParkInsider.com. He has just published "Stories from a Theme Park Insider," an eBook that Disney World fans will find fascinating.
In addition to bringing an obvious passion for parks to his Website, Niles, who actually worked as a cast member at Disney World in his younger days, brings some street cred -- Main Street USA cred -- to his writing. He often writes about his park employee exploits online, and has collected 40 of his favorite Disney World stories for the book. The lowdown on what really goes on behind the scenes at Pirates of the Caribbean, Tom Sawyer's Island, and other Disney attractions makes for fascinating, and often uproarious reading. You can check out one of the chapters and learn how to purchase the eBook at Niles' site.
